Our guest today is Martha Blair Heymann. Martha has been an advocate of the dying conversation since the death of her late husband in 1993. She was drawn to becoming a certified Lay Chaplain for a children’s hospital, which evolved into training as a Grief Coach years later, and not long afterward, as an End of Life Doula with the International End of Life Doula Association.

She is a death educator and facilitator of Death Over Dinner Game Nights, a writer, a self-proclaimed bad but enthusiastic ceramic artist, and holds dear music by Fleetwood Mac, Seals & Crofts, Nanci Griffith and Carly Simon.

In today’s conversation, we explore her experiences supporting family and friends of those close to death, as well as profound insights about the dying process.
